DESCRIPTION:The UK Meets Germany: A Forum for Young Leaders (UKMG) is 
 a network of young, influential people from both sides of the North Se
 a who have an active interest in supporting the UK-Germany relationshi
 p.\n\nMembers join the Forum by taking part in a Weeklong Seminar, dur
 ing which they will learn about the field of cultural diplomacy, explo
 re the UK-Germany relationship, and take part in challenging group dis
 cussions on important issues.\n\nOnce they have become a member of the
  Forum the ICD will support the young leaders in conducting research i
 nto the bilateral relationship, which can either be published on our o
 nline media service (Cultural Diplomacy News, www.cd-n.org), online in
  the ICD research section, or in our forthcoming book “Case Studies 
 in Cultural Diplomacy”. The Forum will also organise a number of sho
 rter, academic conferences throughout the year that the members are in
 vited to attend and to help organise. Through the ICD Online Forum, me
 mbers are able to keep in touch with one another and members of the ot
 her ICD Forums and share important information about job opportunities
  and related events. Finally, the ICD will support and offer guidance 
 to members who are interested in organising their own cultural exchang
 e initiatives.\n\nAdvantages of joining the Forum\n\nThe Weeklong Semi
 nar- The program for the Weeklong Seminar will involve seminars and wo
 rkshops with experts on the German-British relationship including acad
 emics, politicians, journalists, and practitioners from other civil so
 ciety organisations. During this week you will have the opportunity to
  meet with these figures, discuss key issues with them, and take part 
 in structured group discussions with the other participants. The progr
 am will be designed to give you ideas and advice for your own cultural
  exchange initiatives, and to facilitate strong relationships between 
 the participants.\n\nTaking part in the Weeklong Seminar will also off
 er you a unique opportunity to experience Berlin. As an established NG
 O with strong connections to Berlin’s political and civil society sp
 heres, we are able to organise seminars in locations such as the Germa
 n Foreign Ministry, the German Parliament, the Berlin Philharmonic, th
 e City Hall, and the European House.\n\nThe Forum - One of the main go
 als of the forum is that the members have the encouragement and suppor
 t to organise their own cultural exchange initiatives. During the Week
 long Seminar we will provide you with information about how you can do
  this, and encourage you to generate ideas for possible initiatives. A
 t the end of the Weeklong Seminar we will provide you with a document 
 outlining the issues you need to address, how you can plan your initia
 tive, and giving you information about where you can apply for funding
 .\n\nFollowing the completion of the Weeklong Seminar you will become 
 a member of the ICD Young Leaders Online Forum. The Online Forum was c
 reated to allow members of the different ICD Forums to keep in touch a
 nd share information about job opportunities, their leadership initiat
 ives, and other related events, with each other.\nForum members are en
 couraged, in consultation with the ICD, to conduct research into the B
 ritish-German relationship, in particular relating to cultural exchang
 e between the two countries. When completed, the ICD can publish these
  case studies on our online media service “Cultural Diplomacy News�
 �, in the research section on the ICD homepage, and in our forthcoming
  publication “Case Studies in Cultural Diplomacy”. The publication
  will allow academics and practitioners to evaluate previous examples 
 of cultural diplomacy, and encourage the establishment of best practic
